The 28th Glasgow (Giffnock) Scout Group was founded in 1912 and is headquartered in Arthurlie Drive, Giffnock.
The Group provides Scouting activities for approximately 180 young people aged 6 – 18 years. It is made up of:
- 2 Beaver Colonies. Meeting nights are Monday and Friday, from 18:30 – 19:30.
- 2 Cub Packs. Meeting nights are Tuesday and Wednesday, from 19:00 – 20:30.
- 1 Scout Troop. The Troop meets on a Thursday night, from 19:15 – 21:15.
- 1 Explorer Scout Unit. The Unit meets on a Monday night, from 19:30 – 21:30.
The sections cater for the following age ranges:
- Beavers : Age 6 – 8
- Cubs : Age 8 – 10.5/11
- Scouts : Age 10.5/11 – 14
- Explorers : Age 14 – 18
The current Scout Hall was opened in 1936.
